I passed!

I passed my teaching exam, so now the road is clear for me to student teach in the Spring.

Thank God

Freedom...

thy name is me!!!

Sleep, here I come!

I also find out about my test scores today. Wish me luck, as I really need to have passed it to make this last three months of hell worth it.

My Own Fuzzy Math

OK, so we are having a debate about giving the upper echelons of socirty huge tax breaks. Why?Because according to Republicans, such tax breaks allow for further investment in American companies, which means more jobs. I know lots of people who do not make anywhere near $200,000 a year or more who buy into this notion.

The idea seems to be:

Tax Breaks to the Rich = More Investment = Money to Expand = More Jobs = A Larger GNP

But watching companies for the last ten years or so, the true equation seems to be

Tax Breaks for the Rich = More Investment = Higher Stock Prices = More Money for Investors (aka The Rich).

Bush' job creation plan is to trust companies to expand their companies and hire American jobs. But this is a ridiculous notion. US companies have shown time and time again that they will happily screw over their employees if they think it will raise their stock proce a quarter dollar. If it will mean raising their stock portfolio, companies will move operations overseas and employ people for pennies a day. A corporation's only loyalty is to its stockholders, the vast majority of which are the same wealthy getting tax cuts.

Am I wrong? Am I missing a step somewhere? Help me figure out why people trust US corporations...

Lesson Learned Upon seeing I (heart) Huckabee's

It is wise and important to, after having a major life revelation, epiphany or philosophical breakthrough to get the hell out of whereever you are as fast as you can.

See the movie, and you will understand. And it is an excellent movie.

Another rare moment I have time to post

I have been putting a great deal of stress on my last thread of sanity of late, and it is just about to pop. It only needs to hold on for three more weeks, but I am not sure it will make it.

As such, I am padding a room in my house just in case.

I hate using my blog to vent, especially when I don't have the time to update it a lot, so I don't want to bitch a lot, but I really, really miss sleep.

So for a more optomistic view:

In a mere three weeks, my job will end and I wll no longer have to decide between studying and sleeping. I will get a nice bundle of money in which to pay down bills. I should find out if I passed the Teacher Exam (which was so subjective, I have no idea howI did). I will have more time to clean my house, shuttle my children and take some of the burden off of my wife.

In a mere three weeks...

Until then, I will rue the day I gave up caffine and do my level best to not actually work while at work...

The Debate

Well, no huge knockouts from either side, but the expectations game was absolutely won by Kerry. This debate was on Bush's trunp card, the sole reason anyone is voting for him. Security. And he failed to make a compelling case that Kerry was wrong on security. Kerry held his own and finally found a freaking 15 second answer to the flip-flop charges. Kerry looked poised, knowledgable, and well-spoken. Bush looked tired and angry.

So, while I doubt the debate changed the mind of anyone who has already decided, I feel sure that the 7% of the country that remains undecided because they don't like Bush but want to be safe will give Kerry a good second look.
